The Designer:

Autumn Teneyl is a fashion designer and artist best known for her feminine, free‐flowing designs. In the summer of 2000, Autumn found her calling as a fashion designer. Her fluid designs were born against the natural backdrop of mountain music festivals, giant Aspen and bustling streams. The mountain chic, homegrown label is owned by the designer, who is committed to an ethical and eco-conscious model in all areas of the business. Autumn is an advocate for the environment and the human condition, and she devotes annual time and revenue to these causes. Autumn utilizes domestically made organic fabrics and re-purposed designer‐end natural & synthetic fabrics to reduce the environmental burden of textile manufacturing. ATD offsets 100% of their operational and travel costs by purchasing renewable energy credits (REC’s) and has donated tens of thousands of dollars yearly to organizations such as the AIDS Foundation, Free A Child, public radio stations (KDNK, KGNU, KSUT, eTown) and environmental groups like Colorado Wild. Every garment is handmade in Colorado, USA.

About:
Global Girlfriend was created by Stacey Edgar in 2003 to help women worldwide gain economic security while providing you unique products and a simple way to help women in need. Our fair-trade boutique offers a line of trend-setting, women-made, fair-trade products including stylish apparel, accessories and gifts with one purpose — helping women in need help themselves. We believe passionately that economic opportunity for women holds the promise for real change in the world; because when women have an income, they reinvest in themselves and in their children’s health, education and nutrition, building stronger families and communities over time. Many women try desperately to make a living selling their artisan-quality goods but find that they have little access to market opportunities. Through fair-trade practices, Global Girlfriend brings the work of these disadvantaged groups directly to you. Global Girlfriend believes in forming long-term partnerships that provide women a fair living wage with equal employment opportunities, healthy and safe working conditions, technical assistance and development strategies to foster prosperity and reduce poverty.

* Women Made
We know that economic opportunities for women holds the promise for real change because with a sustainable income over time, a woman invests in her family’s health and education — things that really help break the cycle of poverty.

* Fair Trade
We also know that for women to thrive, those opportunities must reflect fair working conditions, many times non-traditional ones like working from home, and access to resources that provide a gateway into the global economy

* Eco-Friendly
We share one earth and it must be healthy for us all to thrive. We support women in producing products that solve their community environmental issues, producing healthier children, rivers, skies and world.

Global Girlfriend directs the charity royalty from each purchase to Camfed (Campaign for Female Education), a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating poverty in Africa through the education of girls and the empowerment of young women. Camfed works directly with girls and women in rural areas of Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana and Tanzania, providing educational and economic opportunities.

The charity royalty from each purchase at Global Girlfriend is directed to Camfed’s seed money micro-grant and micro-credit program. Camfed’s seed money micro-grant program is run by young women for young women, creating a bond of female solidarity that is integral to its success. Young women in the seed money program receive an initial micro-grant, which they do not have to repay, in order to launch a small business venture, benefiting themselves, their families, and their entire communities.

About Us:
Elisabethan’s garments and goodies are wearable collages constructed from reclaimed and vintage textiles, making each Elisabethan piece unique. Fabric, trims and buttons are harvested from existing items that may have previously been a sweater, drapery, favorite t-shirt or vintage yardage stashed in your grandmother’s sewing room.

Designer/recycler Elisabeth Delehaunty travels all over the country to collect an eclectic supply of raw materials. These fabrics are washed, dried, deconstructed, hand-cut, combined, stitched, and finished with appliqués or other handwork. Recycling is the heart of our business philosophy.

We’re inspired by the challenge to create playful garments out of materials gathered from the sea of stuff that surrounds us all, making something “new” that isn’t “more.” The result is lively, highly functional pieces made from ingredients that are on (at least!) their second time around.

About:
Funklectic adj. Characterized by originality and modishness, unconventional; made up of or combining elements from a variety of sources.Funklectic is the creation of me, Denver fashion designer Heidi B, and I run the business full time while also doing freelance graphic design.

Funklectic combines funk with eclectic imaginative flair. The fiber and design of collected chaos ignite my fashion ideas. At 25, I don’t take anything for granted. I started designing in high school but cooled off when I got to college. Then in my junior year, I brought my mom’s sewing machine back to school and set it up on a rickety kitchen table. My first project in a while, I took a pile of kids’ t-shirts with cool designs I’d been collecting and cut them into squares. Sewing them together in a patchwork style led to a funky drawstring skirt. I love the skirt and still wear it. The compliments I received inspired me to get my fashion line going.

I decided to focus on creating my own clothing line for my senior thesis, and that was the beginning of my budding business. I live with my amazing boyfriend Marc, an artist, musician and engineer. Marc provides lessons in power tools, business plans and efficiency. He also helps with design strategies when I build movement into my creations, such as the funky flowing purse made of Scrabble letters. The two of us turned the basement into a studio where I could accommodate my industrial sewing machine and a growing collection of tools, however I outgrew that quickly and now work in our garage that we renovated into my studio.

I look to the future with more hope than I could have imagined of a few years ago. My dreams have come true.

Thanks for supporting independent designers and fashion!

Modishness & Originality,
**Heidi B

About Us:
be present, a clothing line carried in yoga studios, boutiques, spas and resorts throughout the United States and the World, incorporates the yoga philosophy into the design. be present began as clothing for yogis and yoga instructors, and evolved into a company rooted in the experience of yoga, but designed for those who value versatile, simple, comfortable clothing. Our pants are designed to weather the street as much as they are designed to hit the mat. In the years since the first be present pant was introduced, our line has set the industry standard for versatile, agile and mobile yoga pants. be present has consistently been on the forefront of creativity and originality in the yoga world.
