About Us:
After years of watching the faces of visitors to the Rocky Mountain region turn red, David Erickson made a commitment to create a top-quality sun protection lotion designed especially for the high altitude needs of the Rocky Mountains. Five years after starting his quest to create the ultimate sunscreen, Erickson, opened the doors to Rocky Mountain Sunscreen. He spent those years interviewing several chemists, toiling over various formulas and searching for just the right components to build a successful sunscreen company.

The fruit of Erickson’s labor is an elite sun protection product that’s greaseless, waterproof, PABA and fragrance free and hypoallergenic. Fortified with aloe and vitamins A, D, and E, the product is formulated as a daily moisturizer – safe for daily use on the face and under women’s make-up. The bonding base formula works by interlocking with the skin, unlike many other products that link with just the outer layer of skin. It is especially effective for the active user because it won’t clog the pores and will allow the skin to breathe and sweat.

David Erickson started Rocky Mountain Sunscreen because of a strong desire to offer good, effective protection from the sun, and education remains a primary focus of what he does. In the early years, the company introduced a gallon size pump dispenser of sunscreen for distribution to ski schools. Now golf courses, swimming pools, day care centers, construction workers and any other group that spends significant time outdoors use the refillable pump system. To be sure the product is being used properly; Erickson personally travels to several clients’ sites and holds educational clinics.

The new millennium has brought more prosperity to Rocky Mountain Sunscreen. In 2001, the U.S. Ski Team chose Rocky Mountain Sunscreen to build their official sunscreen and lip balms. The sunscreen manufacturer beat out several other large sunscreen companies for the contract. Though Rocky Mountain Sunscreen couldn’t offer big money or a big advertising campaign for the contract, the company was chosen because of its high-altitude tested formula, a formula that the ski team feels it can stand behind.
